Contest Rules

Welcome to
Muskoka Founders Circle
By participating in our contest, accessing or using our website (the “Site”), services, and any communications, including SMS messages, you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions and Contest Rules. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not compete or use our website or services.
“MUSKOKA FOUNDERS CIRCLE” or “FOUNDERS CIRCLE” is an unorganized group of local entrepreneurs in the Muskoka Region.
“CONTEST” means the current year Founders Choice Awards contest, an initiative of the Muskoka Founders Circle.
“LICENSED MARKS” includes any MUSKOKA FOUNDERS CIRCLE and CONTEST trademarks and all associated names and logos
Eligibility:
In order to qualify for the CONTEST:
applicant must be 18 years of age on the day of application; and applicant must be a full-time resident of Muskoka; and applicant must be a majority owner of the business
Entry Limit: There is a limit of one (1) application per awards cycle as determined by the Founders Circle.
General Rules:
By participating in this contest, each applicant agrees:
to be bound by these CONTEST rules and the decisions of FOUNDERS CIRCLE in its sole discretion; and to submit only non-confidential information, as FOUNDERS CIRCLE cannot guarantee confidentiality; and to submit only materials that do not infringe on the intellectual property or privacy of a third-party; and that entering the CONTEST does not breach the terms of any contract of employment or any other contract
A CONTEST entry may be deemed ineligible if, in the sole opinion of the FOUNDERS CIRCLE:
it is incomplete or in any way not in compliance with these CONTEST rules; or it includes lewd, obscene or otherwise inappropriate images or references
FOUNDERS CIRCLE will not return any information or material submitted as part of your application.
FOUNDERS CIRCLE is not responsible for lost or late entries.
FOUNDERS CIRCLE is not responsible for any miscommunication, failed communications systems, software malfunctions, or for any human errors in connection with the CONTEST.
FOUNDERS CIRCLE reserves the right to substitute any of the CONTEST prizes with other prizes of equal or greater value if any prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason.
Applicant agrees to accept email communication, from time to time, directly from FOUNDERS CIRCLE. You may request and will be granted discontinuance at any time.
Disclosure: FOUNDERS CIRCLE may publicly disclose applicant’s name, business name, description of the business and other related information and materials as FOUNDERS CIRCLE deems appropriate. Disclosures may include but not be limited to descriptions of the business, photos and videos.
Use of Licensed Marks: Applicant agrees that FOUNDERS CIRCLE owns the exclusive right, title and interest in and to the LICENSED MARKS. Once their application is accepted, entrant may use the LICENSED MARKS in print and digital format, downloaded directly from FOUNDERS CIRCLE website and unchanged in any way, solely for the purpose of promoting their participation in the CONTEST.
Right to cancel: FOUNDERS CIRCLE reserves the right to cancel, terminate, or suspend the CONTEST, at its discretion, at any time and without prior notice.
Verification: All applicants and entries are subject, without prior notice, to verification by FOUNDERS CIRCLE at any time and for any reason of any information conveyed by the applicant in any form to FOUNDERS CIRCLE. Failure to provide verification to the complete satisfaction of FOUNDERS CIRCLE within the timeline specified by FOUNDERS CIRCLE may result in disqualification in the sole and absolute discretion of FOUNDERS CIRCLE.
References: All CONTEST finalists will be asked to submit three (3) business references. Finalists agree that MUSKOKA FOUNDERS CIRCLE may contact the references at any time.
Use of proceeds: All award winners agree to use their prize money solely and exclusively for the purpose communicated to FOUNDERS CIRCLE during the CONTEST. FOUNDERS CIRCLE may request that award winners show proof of approved use of funds.
Applicant agrees to release and hold harmless FOUNDERS CIRCLE and its board of directors, officers, employees, members, volunteers and agents from and against any and all liabilities, losses, claims, demands, costs and expenses (including lawyer’s fees and litigation expenses on a solicitor and own client basis) whatsoever to which any of them may become subject arising from any actions or omissions by the applicant.
